CAABertie Pet Pantry Presentation to Town of Askewville
Companion Animal Advocates of Bertie (CAABertie) will present information on the new pet food pantry initiative to the Town of Askewville town council on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 7:30 pm.
This presentation is the first that we will do in our efforts to connect with local municipalities to raise awareness for animal issues.
Our presentation will povide a brief overview of how CAABertie formed as a citizen-powered movement.
- Explain the Little Free Pantry movement and how it translates to a Pet Pantry.
- Explain the pet pantry initiative and how local students at the Bertie High School will help us build the first two pantry boxes.
- Ask the town council to determine if a need exists in Askewville for a pet pantry.
- Offer to connect the municipal officials and residents to resources to improve the lives of companion animals. (NC SPAN, local grant funds we might find, etc.).
